Updated hack coding information

First, I read all the stickies, so I'm making that clear.

I am new to C++, but not C. I have coded in Delphi, UCSD Pascal, VB, a little in JAVA, JavaScript, ASP (but not .Net) and a little in C#.

So, I am not new to coding. I wrote my first program when I was 12, I'm 39 now. I have most written small code to help complete a task. Rarely have I written a major application. Thus the idea of coding a hack is ideal to me.

I have Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, and I'm interested in coding in C++ only. I am breezing over the documentation just to learn the difference in syntax only. I already understand operators, loops, functions, and all that. I simply just don't know the C++ syntax, and I'm learning that quickly. The other thing that is a little new to me is OOP. I learned a bit about that when programming JAVA, but didn't really use it much.

I found this free e-book that kind of covers those basics and syntax at C++ Beginner's Guide

I am interested in specifically coding for COD4, not BF2. I did a bit of searching on Google and didn't find anything real concrete. So I thought I would ask here for help.

I'm not sure what tools are relevant in the stickys for this. Thus why I am asking.

Thanks!
