Anyone played it?

I have been playing the demo, I don't mind it, certainly more realistic than alot fo other games. Actually will consider buying it when it is released.

Yeah I had pre-purchased on steam very good game indeed. It's not for little kids though due to the complex gameplay even apache heli and jets takes skill to shoot someone down. Commanding and squad leading is fantastic in this simulator and the lifelike terrain is nice. I recommend a good PC if you want to get the most out of the game for sure.

Spiderpig the game is already out has been for a few days now.

i have read it somewhere that no PC can run Arma2 with everything set to max

but the game looks great i'm going to get it somewhere before it's released ^^

I have my settings on high and view distance to max and it lags a little but still very playable.

I just installed and played with the demo, I can play with almost everything on high. The thing I cannot stand about is how overly complex the controls and control setup are.

I found the game play very cumbersome, overly complicated actions are required for what should be simple. Example, don't make me pick up ammo, if I am low on it and walk over it then just give it to me.

Overall I think it looks great, but I don't believe the enjoyment factor will be there. Still need to play it more, found some bugs that pissed me off enough the first time to quite playing after 20 minutes.

Apparently a lot of the bugs will be fixed in the patch when it comes out. If your not too keen on the game you might want to wait for operation flashpoint 2 that looks like it's going to be very popular.

I know it's a demo, so I expect some bugs. The fact that it took 20 minutes just to get the controls setup was very discouraging, the UI for control setup is really crappy. I did see flashpoing 2 trailers, looks great as well.

I am all for realism in a game, but having to press a few keys to do the simplest thing (like stand up) is a waste of time IMO, most games do this automatically when you for example press jump from prone etc.

I know I sound down on the game, that's because of the setup experience, I do still need to try out the rest of the demo before I decide if I will buy the retail version.
